Functional Materials for Novel Engineering Applications Research Team
Functional Materials for Novel Engineering Applications Research Team (FMAT) aims at interdisciplinary research and development of functional materials through a knowledge integration of advanced material science and modern manufacturing processes. Our unique functional materials successfully address several challenges in engineering applications. Scientific research activities include the following:
> Development of 3D printable polymer and its composites with specific functions such as electrically conductive property, anti-bacterial activity, and shape memory effect
> Study of new polymer, its composites, and surface modification of fillers
> Metallurgical process analysis, microstructure characterization, and study of structure-process-property relationships of metal and its composites
> Additive manufacturing for metal and its composites
> Failure analysis of metallic materials
> 3D printing technology for natural rubber and development of new 3D printable natural rubber latex and its composites
- Laser-based 3D printer for natural rubber
- LCD 3D printer for photocurable resin
- Failure analysis of metallic materials
