MTEC Organises Activities Under the Support of the National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO) through the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC)

MTEC, led by Dr. Anchalee Manonukul, Leader of the Smart Alloy and Manufacturing Research Team, Material Processing and Automation Research Group and the project leader, organised activities as part of the research project titled “Development of 316L Stainless Steel Filament for 3D Metal Printing with Complex Shapes and Near-Net Shapes.” This project is funded by the Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO) through the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC). From February 17-21, 2025, research team members from Montanuniversitaet Leoben in Austria visited Thailand. The objectives included discussing project implementation and visiting MTEC laboratories and companies related to filament-based 3D printing technology.

On February 20, 2025, at the Bussakorn Conference Room, NECTEC Building, Thailand Science Park, the project organised a special seminar titled “Advancements in Polymer and Metal 3D Printing.” The seminar commenced with opening remarks from Associate Professor Dr. Toemsak Srikhirin, Executive Director of MTEC. Leading experts in filament-based 3D printing technology were invited as speakers, and the seminar covered seven key topics:

Additive Manufacturing of Highly-Filled Polymers at the Institute of Polymer Processing
By Dr. Christian Kukla, Research and Innovation ServiceMontanuniversitaet Leoben, Austria

Challenges in Material Extrusion Additive Manufacturing
