The event was organized for the general public who are interested in adopting innovations in the agricultural industry. There were a lot of people interested and participated in the event.
Durian, the king of fruits, is not only consumed in Thailand but also exported, especially to the ever-increasing demand Chinese market, and yields the highest income of all exported fruits. The world’s major growing areas of durian are in ASEAN countries. In the future, the exportation of Thai durian are likely to face increasing competition; therefore, it is crucial to maintain the standards and quality of Thai durians in a sustainable manner so as to meet the market demands that are highly competitive in terms of quality.
MTEC had developed an innovative durian wrap bag “Magik Growth” that helps protect durian from agricultural pests, such as mealybugs, yellow peach moth, and black mold, until harvesting. The Magik Growth is safe and renders the spraying pesticides unnecessary. It also helps reduce production costs of Durian, as well as induce nice-looking skin, thinner peel and thicker flesh.
All activities in the Matichon Academy, such as the career-building workshop, are managed under strict COVID-19 preventive measures. The highlight of the fair is “The Wonders of Flora” that had various types of rare plants worth more than 20 million baht. Also, there was the GREEN MARKET for lovers of variegated plants.
