On May 24, 2022, at Thailand Science Park, Pathumthani, the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) held a meeting with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) Mae Moh Power Plant in Lampang Province to discuss collaboration on research and development to enhance power generation efficiency. The event was presided over by Dr. Kritsada Prapakorn, Deputy Executive Director of MTEC, and Mr. Atthaphon Im-nam, Director of Maintenance of Mae Moh Power Plant. In the meeting, MTEC research team had presented its research relating to an enhancement of of power generation efficiency as follows.
1. Technologies for the reduction of CO2 , water management and wastewater treatment from the power generation process
2. Technologies for vibration analysis and condition monitoring by using predictive power of AI
3. Research and development in robotics and AI for applications in power generation process
4. Failure analysis and Finite Element Analysis of damaged parts in power plants
5. Rubber material technology for part replacement in power generation machines
6. Data collection toward online condition monitoring and predictive maintenance
It is expected that the discussion will lead to joint research and development in various projects in the near future.
The delegation from EGAT Mae Moh, Lampang Province, also visited MTEC’s laboratory
of the Materials Processing and Manufacturing Automation Research Group.
