MTEC, NSTDA Presents Research Accomplishment at the 37th "METALEX 2023", SEA's Most rominent achine Tools and Metalworking Exhibition

Dr. Toemsak Srikhirin, the Director of the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), joined the opening ceremony of “METALEX 2023,” the leading ASEAN machine tools and metalworking exhibition, its 37th edition. The event, organized by RX Tradex, was inaugurated by Dr. Nattaphon Rangsitphon, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry.
At METALEX 2023, the preeminent ASEAN machine tools and metalworking exhibition, the Ministry of Industry reaffirmed its dedication to advancing and modernizing manufacturing machinery, focusing on enhancing production efficiency throughout the supply chain. This commitment is realized through initiatives aimed at curbing energy consumption and reducing carbon emissions, achieved through deploying robotics, automated machinery, and cutting-edge digital technologies for real-time production planning and management. These strategic measures encompass a comprehensive transition plan for industrial operators as they embrace the principles of Industry 4.0. Key components of this transition include the development of robotics and automation systems, encompassing market expansion, bolstering competitive capabilities for System Integrators (SI), and promoting investments in robotics and automation systems. Additionally, concerted efforts have been directed toward augmenting the capabilities of small and medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) within the manufacturing sector. Recognizing that the manufacturing industry’s sustained growth and productivity hinge on adopting appropriate machinery and technology, these initiatives underscore a commitment to realizing its full potential. At the exhibition booth, MTEC has displayed its research accomplishments, which include:
– Development of Smart Analyzers for analysis and interpretation of ultrasonic and vibration signals using AI and development of RCMate4.0 software.
– Developing a data collection and analysis system to control the quality of workpieces for the aluminum casting process.

Furthermore, there were 41 seminars at the recent METALEX 2023 event, where the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) took the lead in organizing the “EV Tech Forum.” This forum, held in collaboration with the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT), centered around the theme “Embracing New Business Opportunities in Response to the Electric Vehicle Trend.” It addressed measures to support the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) in the Thai aluminum industry, focusing on moving towards a circular economy. Another noteworthy seminar at METALEX 2023 was the “Additive Manufacturing Forum,” which explored fresh prospects in an evolving industry.
METALEX 2023 took place at Halls 98-104 of the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) from November 22 to November 25, 2023, operating between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
