MTEC and Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI) handed over Patient Isolation Chamber for Home Isolation (HI-PETE) to Mongkutwattana Hospital and Saint Marys Hospital to support the medical personnel against COVID-19.

MTEC held a meeting with EGAT Mae Moh to discuss R&D leading to enhancing the efficiency of power generation
On May 24, 2022, at Thailand Science Park, Pathumthani,
the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) held a meeting with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) Mae Moh Power Plant in Lampang Province to discuss collaboration on research and development to enhance power generation efficiency. The event was presided over by Dr. Kritsada Prapakorn, Deputy Executive Director of MTEC, and Mr. Atthaphon Im-nam, Director of Maintenance of Mae Moh Power Plant. In the meeting, MTEC research team had presented its research relating to an enhancement of of power generation efficiency as follows.
MTEC organized a workshop on the application of M-Wheel to the communities of Tha Sae District in Chumphon Province
Dr. Danu Prommin, Research Team Leader of Biomechanics Research Team of MTEC’s Biofunctional Materials and Devices Research Group organized a workshop on the application of M-Wheel, an electronic device to turn a normal wheelchair into a motorized wheelchair. MTEC welcomed Japan’s NIMS executive and discussed potential cooperation in the metal R&D
Dr. Julathep Kajornchaiyakul, Director of MTEC, welcomed Dr. Tsuchiya Koichi, the Executive of the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) of Japan, for the discussion of potential cooperation in metal research and development. The laboratories of the Material Processing and Manufacturing Automation Research Group and Rail and Modern Transports Research Center (RMT) had been presented and Dr. Ekkarut Viyanit, Director of RMT, had joined the discussion.
MTEC participated in Sooksiam Amazing Fruit Paradise 2022
On May 17-29, 2022 at ICONSIAM, Bangkok, the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) participated and presented its research results in “Sooksiam Amazing Fruit Paradise 2022” to welcome the magical season of fruits and a big fruit festival.
MTEC completed the research skills training program for high school students and science teachers during the summer semester of 2022
On May 6, 2022, the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) held a farewell ceremomy for the research skills training program 2022. This training program had been conducted during March 14-May 5, 2022 at the laboratory of NSTDA to support the development of science and technology manpower in Thailand, build competitiveness, and create the country’s development. There were 32 students and teachers who are interested in materials science and technology from 25 schools across the country participating in the project. The participants had acquired research skills from various MTEC research teams, namely, Advanced Engineering System Research Team, Engineering Design and Computation Research Group, Biofunctional Materials and Devices Research Group, and Ceramics and Construction Materials Research Group.

On April 4, 2022, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation together with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), Mrs. Kullaprapa Navanugraha, Vice President of NSTDA, Dr. Natthaphop Suwannamek, Researcher of Textiles Research Team, Advanced Polymer Technology Research Group of MTEC, together with Assist. Prof. Dr. Lampan Khurnpoon of Science Program in Plant Production Technology, School of Agricultural Technology, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), and Mr. Peerapun Chivapornthip, Managing Director of Salee Colour Public Company Limited, the company that received technology transfer of “Magik Growth” products, and Miss Orathai Euatrakul, a former expert in the import and export system of plants and inputs, handed over an innovative durian wrap bag “Magik Growth” to Miss Nuannapha Charoenruay, owner of Nuannapha Durian Orchard “Shan-hi Style Garden” at Wang Wa Subdistrict, Klaeng District, Rayong Province.
MTEC and TIIS participated in the 34th Architect Expo 2022
On April 26, 2022, at Challenger Hall, IMPACT Arena, Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) presented its research work at the 34th Architect Expo 2022. The event was organized from April 26 to May 1, 2022 at IMPACT Challenger Hall by the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA) in collaboration with TTF International Co., Ltd. The 34th Architect Expo 2022 was the largest gathering event of the year for architects, designers, and professionals and this year’s concept was “CO-WITH CREATORS”.
