MTEC arranged an orientation session for selected companies to participate in the “CE Design Solution” activity
The National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) together with the Department of Primary Industries and Mines, Ministry of Industry, had conducted a project promoting Design for Circular Economy to create sustainable use of resources. The first stage is to select some entrepreneurs to participate in an activity of “Designing and developing the Design Solution Prototype using the concept of Design 4 Circular Economy Challenges.”
MTEC co-operated with TIIS in driving circular economy by reducing food wastes in schools
MTEC and the Technology and Informatics Institute for Sustainability (TIIS) had organized the “Food Waste” activity under the circular economy concept. This event was presided over by Dr. Jitti Mungkalasiri, Director of the Technology and Informatics Institute for Sustainability (TIIS), who had given a welcome speech to the participants. Concepts and guidelines for assessing food waste quantitatively and data collection method to track food waste were presented to science teachers and guidance teachers in Khlong Luang District in order to raise their awareness and help them contribute to reduce food waste from a leftover consumption. More than 30 participants were participating in the seminar.
MTEC and the Microscopy Society of Thailand co-organized the 39th International Conference of Microscopy Society of Thailand (MST39)
Dr. Julathep Kajornchaiyakul, Director of MTEC, together with Dr. Chanchana Thanachayanont, President of the Microscopy Society of Thailand, had presided over the opening ceremony of the 39th International Conference of Microscopy Society of Thailand (MST39) on March 30, 2022. The conference was hosted by MTEC and the Microscopy Society of Thailand during March 29-31, 2022 through an online platform.
MTEC participated in Thailand Industrial Fair & Food Pack Asia 2022
On April 4-7, 2022 at Bangkok International Trade Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bang Na, Bangkok, the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) participated in Thailand Industrial Fair & Food Pack Asia. This event is an exhibition of technology for processing machinery in food, beverage, packaging, and logistics businesses from leading brands both in Thailand and other countries. It also acts as a trading platform for business people, entrepreneurs and traders in food industries, beverage, packaging, and other related businesses to meet and discuss business collaboration. MTEC had also presented its research on food development, especially development of plant-based protein by food structure design. Noted examples were as follows: (1) Ve-chick, a chicken-like product made from vegetable proteins, produced by novel chopping technology and structure design, (2) Chicken analogue products having chicken-like fibers produced by extrusion technology, (3) V-bang, gluten-free and dairy-free bread products, (4) M-Pro Jelly Drink, a high protein jelly drink with calcium, and (5) Textured meat products for easy chewing and swallowing.
MTEC had launched a Circular Economy Talk on the topic of Circularity Performance Assessment at NAC2022
The National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) had launched a Circular Economy Talk on the topic of Circularity Performance assessment at the 17th NSTDA Annual Conference (NAC2022). In this online forum, Dr. Julathep Kajornchaiyakul, Director of MTEC, had given a welcome speech to the participants. The lecture was honored by Dr. Raul Carlson, Swedish Environmental Management Standards Team Leader.

On March 28, 2022 at Thailand Science Park, Pathum Thani, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) received grace from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to preside over the opening ceremony of the NSTDA Annual Conference 2022 (NAC2022) under the concept of Revitalizing Thai Economy through BCG Research and Innovation.
MTEC researchers had received S & T research grant from Thailand Toray Science Foundation (TTSF) at the 28th Presentation Ceremony (2021)
On March 11, 2022 at Bangkok Marriot Hotel The Surawongse, Bangkok, Dr. Anchalee Manonukul, Research Team Leader of Smart Alloys and Manufacturing Research Team of MTEC had received a science and technology research grant from Thailand Toray Science Foundation (TTSF) at the 28th Presentation Ceremony (2021) under the research project of “A novel low-modulus metal-injection molded titanium alloy powder comparable to the human bone for medical applications”. The research grant aims to enhance the capability of Thai science and is hosted by Thailand Toray Science Foundation (TTSF).
