MTEC research received an award in the Inventor Day 2021-2022
On February 2, 2022 at Even Hall 102-104, Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, together with Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and Prof. Sirirurg Songsivilai, Permanent Secretary of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, had presided over the Invention Day 2021-2022 and had presented the 47th National Research Award to honor Thai researchers with outstanding works that contribute greatly to the academic circle and the nation. This Award acknowledges researchers and inventors who develop innovative ideas, thus creating collective wisdom. There are 292 awards in 12 academic fields classified into 4 categories, namely National Outstanding Researcher, Research award, Thesis award, and Invention award.
MTEC handed over the ‘PETE’ Patient Isolation and Transportation Chamber to Thung Yang Daeng Hospital, Pattani Province, to cope with COVID-19
On February 21, 2022 at the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), Dr. Kritsada Prapakorn, Deputy Executive Director of MTEC, together with Dr. Sarawut Lerspalungsanti, Research Team Leader of Design and Industry Solutions Research Team, Engineering Design and Computation Research Group of MTEC, had delivered the ‘PETE’ Patient Isolation and Transportation Chamber to Thung Yang Daeng Hospital, Pattani Province, to support the medical personnel against COVID-19.
MTEC and Rayong Provincial Cooperative Association had demonstrated the operation of their machine prototypes to the Rubber Authority of Thailand and its alliances
On February 4, 2022 at Rayong Provincial Cooperative Community, the rubber smoke factory, Rayong Province, the operation of the prototype of a semi-automatic, environmentally-friendly latex coagulation machine and the prototype of a high-performance rubber incubator had been demonstrated to Mr. Kuldej Puapattanakul, Chairman, Board of Director of the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAT), and his entourage. His entourage consists of Mr. Sukthat Tangviriyakul, Deputy Governor for Operations of RAT, Mr. Kajohnjak Nuamsakul, Deputy Governor for Administration of RAT, Mr. Chalao Chimphu, Chairman of Rayong Provincial Cooperative Association, and Dr. Buncha Chunhasawasdikul, Chairman, Board of Director of Innovation Group.
MTEC held a workshop on M-Wheel installation in order to expand career opportunities for the communities in Saraburi Province
The National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) had organized a workshop on the installation of M-Wheel, an electronic device to turn a normal wheelchair into a motorized wheelchair. The device would be useful for the elderly and people with paraplegia of all ages. According to the survey results, the volunteers who are the elderly and disabled patients find M-Wheel easy to use, helps improve their quality of life, and reduces the dependency on others, as well as the care expenses.

MTEC introduced M-Wheel and RT Wheelchair at Inter Care Asia 2021
The National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) had presented its innovative medical devices “M-Wheel” and “RT Wheelchair” at Inter Care 2021, an innovative trade show for the health and wellness of the elderly and retirees. The event serves both consumers and business organizations and targets the elderly in terms of their needs, health, lifestyle, and well-being.
MTEC had introduced an innovative durian wrap bag “Magik Growth” to durian farmers in Prachinburi Province
On December 15, 2021 at Na Di District, Prachinburi Province, Dr. Natthaphop Suwannamek, Researcher of Textiles Research Team, Advanced Polymer Technology Research Group of MTEC gave a talk on the topic of “Utilization of durian wrap bag technology to upgrade durian quality to premium grade”. This talk was one of the activities of transferring the production technology to local-identity fruit (durian) under the project of the agricultural occupation promotion conforming to local identity and wisdom. In this event, Mr. Winai Laksanavilas, Director of Prachinburi Provincial Agricultural Extension Office, had presided over the opening ceremony of the training together with Mr. Arun Mueanta, Head of Production Promotion and Development Group, and Mr. Wisut Sawang-ura, Chief of Na Di District Agricultural Extension Office. Prachinburi Province has planned to support durian farmers in production and marketing along with agricultural tourism in the province.
MTEC and NRCT had delivered ‘PETE’ to hospitals in the South and Ubon Ratchathani to support the medical personnel against COVID-19
On November 24, 2021 at Sunpasitthiprasong Hospital, Ubon Ratchathani, and Southern Thailand Science Park, Songkhla, the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), and the Design and Industry Solutions Research Team, Engineering Design and Computation Research Group of MTEC together with the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) had delivered the ‘PETE’ Patient Isolation and Transportation Chamber to 3 hospitals in the South, namely, Yala hospital, Raman Hospital, and Betong Hospital to support the medical personnel against COVID-19. This event was presided over by Asst. Prof. Kamron Pitaks, Director of Southern Thailand Science Park, Prince of Songkla University. Also, on the same day, PETE had been delivered to Sunpasitthiprasong Hospital, Ubon Ratchathani.

On Novermber 16, 2021 at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) together with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and its research system network agencies held a press conference on the 16th Thailand Research Expo 2021. This event would be held during November 22-26, 2021 at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld under the theme of “Research for the country development towards stability, prosperity, and sustainability”
