MTEC and its alliances had organized an online seminar “A study on the bus structure design with safety standards”
The National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) and the
Department of Land Transport had organized an online seminar under the topic of “A study on the bus structure design with safety standards.” This seminar was the purpose of the Department of Land Transport and Road Safety Thailand that aimed to reduce the severity of accidents (a rollover) caused by structures of buses or buses with a height of more than 3.60 meters. MTEC had studied the design guidelines of the bus structure to enhance safety and durability according to the engineering principles and international standards. In this project, MTEC had applied the UNECE Regulation No. 66 (UN R66) in the development of the bus structure by analyzing the design structure with the finite element method, and created a prototype of the bus structure for a practical driving test in order that the bus structure manufacturers in Thailand can study and use this method as their guidelines for bus structure production before the future announcement. In this event, the participants would receive knowledge and guidelines on applying computer technology to design the bus structure and evaluate the rollover test as stated in the international standards.
