Date: 16th June 2022
Time: 10:30 – 16:00 (GMT+7 – Thailand Time)
Venue: Online via Zoom
Language: Webinar will be conducted in English
X-ray computed tomography (XCT) is a three-dimensional imaging technique with high resolutions which is widely used in modern manufacturing facilities as a non-destructive testing. The power of the 3D XCT systems lets the manufacturers inspect internal features of the components and reveal their structure while preserving the samples for future use.
National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), together with Waygate Technologies and Volume Graphics, invites you to join us as we share the forefront developments. Waygate Technologies offers a range of 2D X-Ray inspection and 3D computed tomography (CT) solutions for many applications, from precision nanoCT and lab-scale metrology to high throughput in-line CT inspections. Volume Graphics offers more than 25 years of experience in the development of software for non-destructive testing based on the industrial CT. The software is globally used for quality assurance in many industry sectors, including automotive, aerospace, and electronics industries.
This seminar covers many aspects of the technology and its potential application in materials research which could benefit the researchers who are eager to explore possibilities of the advanced inspection technique.
Topics:
• Reveals microstructure of advanced materials such as composites, ceramics, alloys, lightweight structures, and powder characterization
• Analyzes metallic powder for addictive manufacturing which affects how powder gets distributed, influences the melt process, and causes defects in the final part
• Calculates and visualizes local and global fiber orientations and volume fractions in composite materials
• Explores what’s possible
