Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations before November 15, 2014 will receive full refund minus a 50% of a fee as an administrative charge. Cancellations later than November 15, 2014 will not receive any refund. Notification of cancellation must be received in writing by e-mail or fax. Only cancellations made in writing are acceptable.

            4Materials Technology for Environment Session
               
The Materials Technology for Environment is the forum for the presentation of new advance and research results in the materials technological fields of remediation and sensing, environmental impacts of products and services and innovation for sustainable living. The aim is to initiate the cooperation among worldwide scientific and technological researchers, manufacturers, academic staff and students in the fields. 
                Topics of interest for submission include, but are not limited to:

                     Materials for Environmental Remediation and Sensing This topic will focus on processing, characterization of materials and development of devices applied to technologies for detection and removal of contaminants in the environments such as atmosphere, water, soil and others.  Selected work must be original and present results that demonstrate sensing properties or environmental remediation properties. Examples are:
                          -  Sensing materials for monitoring gaseous and liquid pollutants
                          -  Functional materials or systems for detoxifying harmful substances in the environments
                          -  Modeling of materials, devices and sensor systems
                          -  Device fabrication, testing and aging
                          -  Characterization techniques for the detection of contaminants from the environments.

                     Environmental impacts of products and services The topic will focus on life-cycle assessment based sustainable processes or products, life-cycle inventory, carbon footprint, water footprint, etc. to make the point that sustainability is measurable and therefore feasible, thus providing consumers choices, which can drive the sustainability of system and society. Examples are:
                          -  Sustainability assessment (Environmental, Economic, Social)
                          -  Carbon & Water footprint of products and organizations
                          -  Environmental management directive (e.g. 3R, Clean Technology, Material Flow Cost Accounting, Eco efficiency)

                      Innovation for sustainable living The topic will focus on innovative science and technology that foster environmentally friendly, socially sound, healthy, and sustainable living. Examples include:

Conference Language 

The language of the conference is English and all presentations will be made in English.

 

Conference Format

The conference format will include plenary sessions, keynote speakers as well as contributed oral & poster presentations.
