The mission of MTEC is to conduct research and development activities to enhance the capabilities of Thai industries in materials technology, engineering design, and manufacturing so that significant socio-economic impacts are expected and achieved. The executive committee realizes that converting successful research results into practical uses is a challenging task because there are many critical factors involved, such as market demands and technology transfer, which must be properly dealt with. In managing MTEC’s research and development, setting the direction and placing an importance on the research process are emphasized to achieve the practical use of the research results.
The first step is to set the right goal, taking into account an analysis of relevant factors, such as society, economy, environment, technology, and management. The techno-economic analysis is also an important practice to create a proper understanding of the context and goals that meet the demand. Most notably, MTEC places importance on seeking capable partners, from both government and private agencies, with corresponding goals that cover the target group consisting of manufacturers, users, experts, and agencies related to regulations, and standards. MTEC had cooperated by planning work schedules, collaborating in research and development, advancing to further production and marketing process and later delivering the research results to the target users, as well as maintaining its research excellence.
